Maddy Prior occurs as British folk singer.

Maddy was natural in 14th August 1947 in Blackpool. When around her teens she moved to St Albans. Around St. Albans she befriended a immature Donovan Leitch and Mac MacLeod. She late formed the duo using MacLeod known as Macintosh & Maddy. She met higher using Tim Hart at a folk festival around Keele. Together it recorded 2 albums prior to becoming innovation members of Steeleye Span in 1970. It were a backbone of a class action until the early 1980s when ill-health forced Tim into semi-retirement. Maddy married bassist Rick Kemp, and their girl, Rose Kemp, launched her have recording career within 2003. Although better called a right soprano in Steeleye Span, Maddy has recorded session work, albums of her have songs & eclectic styles from either mediaeval, across folk-rock, prog-rock and traditional songs. She left Steeleye Span inside 1997 but returned in 1999.

Inside 2001 Maddy was awarded the MBE for services to folk music.

In recent albums Troy Donockley has been a co-producer.

Maddy's father, Allan Prior, was co-creator of the law drama Z-Cars.
